The PE department have had an amazing start to the week. Four children received a Principals award for their amazing creative space race dance steps. Doves class created a whole class motif and to further their progression they then, in pairs, had to create a 32 count motif independently and use imagination to come up with more ideas for their own motif.
Here you can see some of the children using their worksheets to help give them starter ideas.
Here you can see a pairing trying to create a dance step which represents the telescope.
In upper KS2 the children are focusing on Netball this half term. This week we are looking at the leading/landing foot and the techniques used to score points. We have already covered passing, finding open space, game rules and tactical play.
Doves class this week have been working on creating poems that will go alongside their space motif. The children were asked to create a 4-line poem about space but also using similes. The children produce some great poems that included lines like
- Rockets move as fast as wheels on a motorbike.
- Stars shine as bright as a diamond.
- Shooting stars sprint as fast through the sky like Usain bolt.
