Lynnsport Active kids.

On Monday, a group of 15 year 2 children attended an event at Lynnsport called Active Kids. The event is not a competition but is a festival, so it is just about having fun and there is no competitiveness to the event. The children took part in events such as fitness drills, weight-lifting, sprints, and sport bingo.  As you can see lots of fun was had.

Eagles class are taking part in dance this half-term. Their dance/motif is based on animals and animal movement. To begin their learning, the children come up with a list of animals and another list of movements to go with a range of animals. This was then used to start to create their dance.

Here you can see the children showing their kangaroo stance. The children jumped side to side for a count of 8.

Here the children are stood in their penguin stance. They then waddle in a round circle for a count of 8 then back round the opposite direction for another count of 8.

Magpies are currently learning about invasion games, in particular netball, as we have a competition coming up. Today's aim was to focus on position and understanding where they are allowed to be on the court.
