Huge congratulations to those children who received star of the week, handwriting and presentation certificates, tackling tables certificates and free reader status. Keep up the hard work!
In Fred Reading this week, we started to look at 3 new books: The World Book, When Fishes Flew and The Hideaway. The children have enjoyed looking in the dictionary to look up the key vocabulary.
In maths, we have moved on to division using the bus stop method. Canaries have been using counters to help them put their numbers into equal groups.
In science, we have been looking at life cycles. This week we have looked at the Queen bumblebee's life cycle in depth and have written fact files about this. We also learnt about the Cuckoo bird who leaves its eggs in another birds nest to be raised by them.
Swimming will continue on Wednesday mornings. Please can you ensure swimming kits are in school and earrings have been removed. Our library slot will continue on a Wednesday afternoon, so this is a great time for any book changes.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs Bussey, Mrs Gosling and Mrs Fyson.
