And it's a Christmas wrap from Eagles class. We have enjoyed our Reading Rocks advent calendar everyday and learnt about lots of new authors and heard their stories. We had a lovely Christmas party, we played musical bumps, musical statues, learnt how to play charades and had a class quiz. We have enjoyed our last day of term altogether.
Eagles team would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
In Outdoor Learning this term, Eagles have been working on some of their RE Curriculum.
We spent the afternoon in the ODL classroom gathering resources to make Sukkah. A tent which was created by people of the Jewish Faith, and are still made today for the celebration Sukkot.
Eagles class opened the first door of their interactive advent calendar from Reading Rocks. The author today was called Jack Jackman and he read a snippet from his novel. He set the children a reading challenge to write about the strangest place they could spend or have spent Christmas. These are some of the children's amazing ideas.
Robot Dreams Trip
Eagles had a visit from the Education Team from HSBC.
We did lots of activities involving how to raise money to make a cake and how to work out different amounts. We also had a giant debit card and played a game to find different parts of it. There was also some jumping around!
This term in Design and Technology we are investigating different types of fabric and will be creating our own fabric faces. We have looked at many different types of materials and textiles. We also have been looking at ways to create hair and make different hairstyles.
This half term Eagles are working on Living things and their environment.
We talked about living, dead and inanimate and spent time working in table groups to sort different things into the correct categories.
Eagles spent the afternoon creating and building Roman Roads on the field.
We looked at the process of digging trenches, lining the trench with larger stones and sticks. Then layered small stones and sand. We then covered it with a layer of mud and made our top surface with leaves. We added kerbsides with sticks. Some even tried to build aqueducts!
We had lots of dirty hands and happy faces.
Eagles have been continuing their Literacy learning. We have had a virtual tour of a French antique shop and been exploring descriptive words.
In computing we have been using our new 'search' skills to research The Romans.
Welcome Back Eagles!
